Upper North Country Zone

The Adelaide Cricket Club is aligned to the Upper North Cricket Association, and we receive funding from SAC to assist us in working to promote cricket within this area.  This Association is made up of four sub Associtions:

Port Augusta

Whyalla

Roxby Downs

Port Pirie (Seniors Only)

Over the last few years the club has increased its committments to the Upper North in many ways.  We help promote cricket by:

Running an Annual Accademy within the region for junior cricketers

Assisting in setting up In2Cricket and Kanga programs

Inviting junior cricketers to come to Adelaide to play Grade cricket at our club

Making regular trips to the region to support coaches and administrtors

We hve also ssisted financially by allocating prt of our funding to assist in the development of  turf wicket within Port Augusta.

Over the coming years we intend to assist the region by continueing our current committments but also by looking into the possibility of:

Player Sponsorship

Playing Grade Cricket within the region (both senior and junior)

Running coaching clinics within the region

Develop a stronger relationship with Roxby Downs

Over the last few years we have invited a number of players down to Adelaide to play in our various junior competitions. These include:

A number of these players mde the Country represetative sides over the last few years.  One player in particular proved his selection in the Under 14 side lst year, was Matthew Hyball.  Matthew is  talented leg spinner who we would love to hve ply junior cricket t Adelaide.  The only problem is is that he lives in Roxby Downs and it is just not practical for him to trvel to Adelaide on a weekly basis.  Over the coming season a number of young players hve committed to come to Adeliade again this season nd we will lso be welcoming new players and in prticular lst years Wyhalla Junior Cricketer of the year Bailey Todd

Senior coch Dean Sayers is also very keen on visiting the region to meet with senior players who potentially could be interested in coming to play in Adelaide.
